Giant Asian supermarket in Amsterdam

I am meeting a colleague from Singapore who is visiting next week for dinner and strangely, he asked me "so do you have any cravings?" I found that surprising coming from someone who is visiting since it is usually the host who ask the guest. He replied that since I am the one who has been away from home, I must have some cravings. But then I realise that actually no. I opted for Italian.

I do think I am very lucky to end up in a city where actually Asian food is common. Indonesia being an ex-colony of The Netherlands has its influence prominently displayed in the city. Although I am not sure what the relationship with Thailand is, but the Thai restaurants here are also pretty good. Of course in every city there is a Chinatown, although I must say the dim sum in Den Haag is way better.

My boyfriend used to chide me for assuming that I can never find the same food from home in Amsterdam. He was right. He actually found me a big Asian supermarket. Actually it is more like a wholesaler. For those long time amsterdamers, I am not talking about the Oriental at Nieuwmarkt, . Not far from my office on the Amstel, where Makro is, there are 2 big supermarkets. Unlike Makro, you do not need a membership to get in.

I don't know what the name of the supermarket is but I have attached a map here.Map to giant asian supermarket.
