This weekend I started watching a documentary series made by CCTV called A Bite Of China (舌尖上的中国). This is a 7 part series which features the history of farming, cooking and eating habits in China. It also gives insights into how Chinese value food and the social associations with food. I just finished the first episode which focused on the various farm life from gathering rare mushrooms in the mountain forest to winter fishing in lakes covered with a layer of ice. I can't wait to watch the next episode.
